Available Datasets
To provide additional value, Claritas offers SF1 data with a variety of retrieval options and variables
not available from other sites.
14 SF1 Maps Available!
In addition to the PL94 data released from the Census, Claritas calculated value-added variables to provide
a more complete picture of your area. The variables have been broken into seven distinctive datasets,
designed to offer manageable and logical data groups. Click the following links for more details,
including a variable list for each dataset:
Data are available in both Adobe® Acrobat® Reader and Microsoft ®
compatible formats for SF1 and PL94 sources. SF3 data are returned in CSV format, which can easily
be viewed and edited in Microsoft Excel.
Summary File 3 (SF3) reports long-form census data down to the block group or census tract level.
813 detailed tables reveal social, economic and housing characteristics compiled from a sample of approximately
19 million housing units (about 1 in 6 households) that received the Census 2000 long-form questionnaire.
Visit the Census Bureau site for more details about
comparing SF3 estimates with corresponding SF1 and SF2 values. Discussion includes the weighting procedures used and the use of
estimates for small groups and areas. The goal of SF3 is to identify large differences among areas or large changes
over time.
